Operating since 2008 the Fund’s focus is on environmental education and projects that can retain or enhance bushland vegetation. Small and large donations have:

  • Part funded the education program and resources for school visits at the Blackburn Lake Visitors Centre,
  • Provided small grants to a number of community organisations and schools for environment activities including indigenous planting,
  • Supported organisations seeking protection for existing bushland under threat.

Fund sponsor ‘Blackburn and District Tree Preservation Society’ recently won the 2017 Urban Landcare Award for environmental activities over 57 years. The award was presented by Her Excellency, Honourable Linda Dessau AC, Governor of Victoria at Government House. More ….

In recognition of the ‘Funds’ contribution to sustainability David Berry, who has managed the Small Granted Program for the Fund was awarded the Mayors Choice award at the City of Whitehorse Award ceremony in March 2013 .
