Why a Fund?
Bushland parks are important to the community in the City of Whitehorse. The city contains some of the highest quality bushland areas in the Melbourne metropolitan area. Linked together, these bushland areas could form corridors for birds and other wildlife, particularly important in an era of climate change. The continued health of bushland areas depends on maintaining, enhancing and linking these areas and protecting them from development.
For some time, the community has been seeking a way to contribute to a fund that helps protect the bushland environment of the City of Whitehorse. In response, this fund has been established with the assistance and support of the Whitehorse Council.
