  • 2018 Small Grants

Holland Road – The Fund awarded a $500 environmental grant to purchase indigenous plants from Bungalook nursery. Sixty small trees and shrubs have been planted in five properties surrounding 25 Holland Road with another fifty plants to be planted in the neighbouring Chinese Church grounds in 2018 winter.


  • 2017 Small Grants

Masons Road Retarding Basing – 300 indigenous and semi-aquatic and riparian plants from Whitehorse Council were added to the 550 planted by Melbourne Water and the 300 obtained by the Blackburn and District Tree Society from Bungalook Nursery through a grant from the Fund. The plants were planted out at a community working bee in August 2017.

A small grant was provided by the Fund for a shade for volunteers working at the Whitehorse Community Indigenous Plant Nursery.

The community rallied to demonstrate the desire for the freeway reserve to be retained as predominantly open space. Vicroads proposed the disposal of the reserve. The fund has actively supported the community in promoting the environmental importance of the freeway reserve as a biolink.
